The Genocide Continues
So Israel is bombing Gaza again. Gazans were told to move South when the bombed the North, now Israel plan to bomb South Gaza and have told the residents to evacuate. But where to? They will be shot if they try and go north so there is nowhere to go. This is a textbook case of ethnic cleansing and genocide. Apparently Hamas are in the South now. This has nothing to do with Hamas but is the execution of a plan to drive the Palestinians from their land that started before Israel became a state in 1948
Gazans are effectively in an open air prison with no means of escape and are facing arial bombardment and a ground invasion. It may not be gas chambers, but it’s the wiping out of a civilian population. The same end result as what the Nazis tried to do to the Jews 80 years ago.
And what about 7th October, as some journalists often ask? The New York Times by no means a pro-Palestinian publication has reported that Israel knew about this in advance. Israeli eye-witnesses from that day described the ease of which the multi-million dollar border fence was breached.The 7th October attack is how they justify the ethic cleansing of Gaza. Utterly deplorable acts were committed by Hamas on 7th October, no doubt about it, but it is being used to justify utterly deplorable acts on a larger scale. How much did the Israeli know? How many of their own people did they accidentally kill? All open questions.
What about the hostages? The ease of which hostages have been transferred this week tells me that it could have been done in October. There are plenty of Palestinian prisioners (effectively hostages) in Israeli jails, many there for crimes such as throwing stones or liking social media posts. There are many woman and children and many have been assaulted in a variety of ways. It would not take much effort for Israel to release these people in prisoner swap deals.
So to Piers Morgn's favourite question, do you condem Hamas? The fact that Isreal bolstered Hamas by funding it, through Qatar, should be mentioned more in western media. With Hamas in Gaza, Israel can claim that it doesn't have a partner for peace. In fact Hamas was part of the Great March of the Return, a peaceful march to the border fence that was met with gunfire by the Israelis, leaving scores dead. That's doesn't mean they are good people, far from it but they are not the only bad guys in all of this.
What about the West Bank? There too Palestinians are being murdered and displaced in large numbers by Israeli settlers and officials.
Western leaders have been complicit in the genocide. Joe Biden, who we all thought was great craic while in Ireland in April, is Israel's greatest supporter. He could change the dynamic completely by stopping their funding and other Western goverments would fall in line.
Israel have used Western medial channels to transmit lies and false narratives Malcolm X said "The media's the most powerful entity on earth. They have the power to make the innocent guilty and to make the guilty innocent. If you're not careful, the newspapers will have you hating the people who are being oppressed, and loving the people who are doing the oppressing.” A look at the mainstream media in countries like the UK and USA and you will see this in action.
Christmas is near and people's attention switches as time goes on. Don't stop talking about Palestine.
