So Derry lose on penalties. Gutted for the Candystripes. Grateful to LOITV who, at the last minute, gave fans around the world access to the game. Grateful to my daughter too who slept through most of it. They had chances. It's stating the obvious but if they had got a 2nd goal in the first half they would have progressed. 
 
 
The team played well and were unlucky. There were many great performances. Duffy and Connolly did really well. Brian Maher has had such a good season, it's a shame he is the one that missed the decisive spot-kick, Ben Doherty didn't convert either of course so he is not alone.

A lot has already been said and written about having to play the game in Dublin. Tallaght Stadium looked rather empty. I wonder what the attendence was. The cost of tickets and travel on a Thursday night I'm sure put people off. Had it been played in Derry, with a full Brandywell roaring the team on, in my opinion they would have gone through. In Belfast, who knows? It would have had such historical significance to play the game in Windsor Park
 
The team have to pick themselves up now for an FAI Cup tie with St. Pats on Sunday. It will be a big ask given the physical exertion and the emotion of tonight but pick themselves up they must..Pats will be stiff opposition on Sunday. MON THE CITY!!!!

They block food/aid so a poulation starve with hunger They lure a starving population to their deaths by offering aid then shooting at them when they go to collect it. They block aid trucks. They kill aid workers, doctors and journalists They have barbeques beside the border fence so a starving population can smell the meat being cooked and hear the laughter while they are in despair. DON'T STOP TALKING ABOUT PALESTINE

 Some people may ask, why am I still writing about it, talking about it?   I wish I didn't have to. I wish we were not witnessing an ongoing genocide. I am so consumed with a mix of feelings, anger, despair, digust. How can Israel get away with their crimes in Gaza and the West Bank? Why haven't they been reigned in? Is the international community so toothless? So afraid of the United States and Trump's tarrifs? Afraid of big business?  There is a conserted effort to silence any opposition, any criticism of Israel's genocide, in the USA, the UK and elsewhere, I am proud that my country, Ireland,  is taking some kind of a stand but it is not enough. Restrcting trade with and arms sales to Israel should have happened years ago. Israeli diplomats should be expelled from every country on he planet. A genocide is ongoing, people are being deliberately starved, shot while they queue for food, and the world watched on. DON'T STOP TALKING ABOUT PALESTINE
